Caballero to start, Pulisic the key to success – Predicted Chelsea lineup (3-4-3) for the premier league visit of Wolves

It’s the final game of the premier league season, and Chelsea need at least a point to confirm Champions League qualification. Wolves come to Stamford Bridge needing to win to secure a Europa League spot. Frank Lampard faces some tough decisions following the midweek defeat at Anfield.

Formation: 3-4-3

Goalkeeper

Wednesday’s defeat could well have been Kepa Arrizabalaga’s last appearance for the Chelsea. Although the Spaniard can’t be blamed for all the goals, it was another unconvincing performance. Willy Caballero is likely to place next weekend in the FA Cup Final. The Argentine must start against Wolves.

Defence

A back three is likely once again. Fikayo Tomori will be in contention and could start his first game since the restart. Alongside Kurt Zouma, and Cesar Azpilicueta is an option. Although a lot depends on match fitness, so I suspect Antonio Rudiger will continue as part of a back three.

Midfield

Mateo Kovacic is one of the first names on the team sheet for me. N’Golo Kante has been declared available and I think he could start alongside the Croatian. Reece James and Marcos Alonso will continue in the wing-back roles.

Front three

Christian Pulisic showed what a talent he is coming off the bench at Anfield. The American is showing everyone exactly what he has to offer in what is only his first season at the Bridge. All three changes made an impact on Wednesday. However, starting a game is a different story. I’d like to think Lampard will be brave and start with the three that finished on Wednesday evening.

Although we only need a point, Wolves will have desire to attack us to fulfil their own target. I can see us getting the upper hand, although it won’t be easy. Prediction: Chelsea 3 Wolves 1
