A premier league move lies ahead for Lille winger Victor Osimhen, according to a report from Le10Sport.
The 21-year-old has impressed for Lille this season, alerting top premier league clubs that he could be a valuable asset.
So far the forward has scored 18-goals, in 38-appearances since his move to France last summer from VFL Wolfsburg. Osimhen spent last season on loan in the Belgian Pro League with Charleroi. Despite not breaking through in the Bundesliga, his season in Belgium saw him score 20-goals, in 36-appearances.
The report suggests Liverpool have opened talks over a possible move, but competition for his signature will come from Manchester United, Chelsea, and possibly Newcastle, following their takeover. With only a year left on his current contract, the fee could yet end up being considerably lower, especially if the player insists his future lies elsewhere.
Rated at £60m, Osimhen has good speed, with an ability to play with his back to goal. Like every good striker, he has the knack of having great position sense and is a cool finisher.
Osimhen is another young talent that would fit well with Frank Lampard’s desire to build a youthful squad. However, despite making a meteoric rise in a short amount of time, I can’t help but think he’d be better off getting some more experience under his belt before making another step up.
