‘He has made great progress and almost feels his usual self’ – Frank Lampard delivers positive Callum Hudson-Odoi update

Last Thursday it was announced that Callum Hudson-Odoi had tested positive to the Coronavirus. Chelsea closed down the training ground at Cobham, with a deep clean carried out of the facilities. All players and staff were told to self-isolate for 14-days.

With no football for the foreseeable future, players have still been keeping themselves fit. Hudson-Odoi posted an update on Friday about his current state of health, giving a positive outcome as he fights the virus.

Frank Lampard has now spoken about the 19-year-old, giving a positive update, whilst he has to adhere to the required 14-days isolation.

The Blues boss told

“I’m happy to say that in Callum’s case, he has made great progress and almost feels his usual self, which is obviously the news we all want to hear.”

Lampard is well aware of the steps we ALL must take:

‘I am of course aware that not everyone can or will recover from this virus, so I urge all of the football and sporting community to continue to act responsibly and look out for the health of others.”

Lampard also adding the need to help others where possible, he added:

“Please do take the time to call older relatives and vulnerable people who might be alone, or offer to drop round shopping if they can’t get out. Let’s make sure we all take care of each other.”

We are all missing football, obviously seeing the Blues run out on a weekly basis. But the current situation puts football, and other entertainment on the back burner, as we continue to fight this crisis. Stay safe, look after yourself, and be considerate to how others are coping.
