Chelsea reportedly showing interest in 21-year-old Barcelona defender

Chelsea have reportedly joined a list of clubs showing interest in Barcelona left-back, Marc Curcurella.

Goal.com claim the Blues have been watching the Spaniards situation. The 21-year-old is currently on loan with surprise package, Getafe.

An option is buy is set at €6m. However, a buyout clause is set to be inserted in the deal, set at €25m, with Barcelona taking a cut of any future deal. This news has alerted Chelsea as well as Napoli, Bayer Leverkusen and Borrussia Monchengladbach.

Curcurella is capped at under-21 level for Spain, and has versality to play further forward. A role he has filled for Getafe. Making 31-appearances, the Spaniard has found the back of the net once this season.

The report claims Curcurella is behind others on the Blues’ list of targets. Ben Chilwell, and Alex Telles remain the first choices to fill the left-back role.

Chelsea are keen to buy another left-back, with Emerson Palmieri, and Marcos Alonso likely to be sold in the summer. However, the latter has shown in recent weeks that he hasn’t given up hope of staying at Stamford Bridge.

This story seems quite complicated considering the player is on loan and likely to make the move to Getafe permanent. But Chelsea don’t ever make things easy, so it’s a possibility if the other aforementioned targets aren’t possible.
