Report suggests youngster linked with Chelsea, and Manchester United is Bundesliga bound

The Blues were being heavily linked with young Birmingham City starlet, Jude Bellingham a few weeks back. The Daily Mail claimed Chelsea were alongside Manchester United as the 16-year-olds’ likely destination.

The rumour has gone cold since, with a report from German publication, Bild, suggesting that Bellingham will instead be joining Borrussia Dortmund next summer, for a fee of £30.5m.

The youngster became Birningham City’s youngest ever player after making his debut last August, aged 16-years-and-38-days. Overall, he has gone on to make 34-appearances this season. Quite an accolade for a player who doesn’t turn seventeen until June.

In contrast, The Athletic, believe United will continue to pursue Bellingham, and are willing to push Dortmund all the way to fight for his signature.

Whether Chelsea continue to pursue the youngster remains to be seen. However, there’s no doubt there are plenty of promising talents emerging from the Blues academy.

One such player is 18-year-old Tino Anjorin. The highly-rated attacker has huge potential, but is yet to commit to a new deal. His current deal runs out in June of next year. Chelsea would be better off concentrating on keeping players of his ability, instead of spending huge fees on potential from elsewhere.
