Chelsea want £25m for Inter Milan target

Chelsea are reportedly willing to sell Marcos Alonso for a fee of £25m. Inter Milan look the most likely destination for the former Fiorentina defender.

Alonso has fallen out of favour at Chelsea. First losing his place to Emerson Palmieri, but more recently due to the emergence of Reece James. Cesar Azpilicueta moving to left-back to accommodate the young star in his natural right-back role.

The Spaniard has made 15-appearances this season. A far cry to being a regular since his move in 2016. A move to Inter Milan would see the 29-year-old reunited with former Blues boss Antonio Conte. Alonso was a pivotal part of the 2016/17 premier league winning team under the the Italian manager.

Conte changed his system after a poor start, switching to three at that back, with Alonso used further forward as a wing-back. The former Real Madrid man excelled on that role, as his defensive frailties were less exposed.

Italian source Calciomercato claim Chelsea are willing to sell for £25m. That would mean the West-London club would recoup what they spent nearly four-years ago. It would be a good bit of business by the Blues.

Both Alonso and Emerson look likely to move next summer. The Blues are keen on bringing in Leicester City left-back, Ben Chilwell. Although the Foxes are likely to demand a hefty fee. That could see Chelsea looking at other potential targets across Europe.
