Chelsea can now sign players in January after their two-window transfer ban was reduced on appeal at the Court of Arbitration for Sport. The news has sent the press, and Blues’ fans into a frenzy, linking players to a move to West-London.
One such player is Nathan Ake. The Bournemouth defender has impressed since leaving Stamford Bridge in 2017 for a fee of around £20m. The Telegraph believe a move back to Chelsea is a possibility, with the Blues paying £40m. Which is considered below the Dutchman’s market value due to a buy-back clause inserted into the move to the south-coast.
Chelsea could do a lot worse, and the price is good for a player who will be familiar with his surroundings, having appeared 17-times during his five-years as a professional at the club.
In other transfer news Jadon Sancho is a hot topic. The England winger has been repeatedly linked to the Blues. The latest is in regards to a £100m move being a realistic possibility.
Also Timo Werner is continuing to be mentioned as a target. The RB Leipzig striker has scored 15-times in 14-Bundesliga appearances this campaign. The 23-year-old would provide competition for Tammy Abraham, with Olivier Giroud tipped to leave Stamford Bridge.
The Daily Express claim Werner is on a list of Chelsea targets that also includes, Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha, Russian forward Fedor Chalov, ex-Fulham man Moussa Dembele, and Ajax playmaker Hakim Ziyech.
It is claimed Zaha would cost £70m. Meanwhile, Dembele would also cost a similar amount as reported by TalkSport last month.
Chalov is highly rated by CSKA Moscow, and is seen as a huge asset to the future of the Russian national team. The 21-year-old would be a risk, but would come at a good price with Sky Sports reporting he also a target of Crystal Palace. The Eagles bid £23m for his services last summer, and are willing to up their bid to £25m.
Ziyech would prove costly after being in stunning form for Ajax. The 26-year-old opted to stay in Amsterdam after key players left last summer.
One surprise addition to the rumour mill is Brentford attacker Said Benrahma. The 23-year-old has been in good form for the Championship club, and is also being linked to Arsenal and Aston Villa , report TalkSport. Maybe the Algerian could prove to be a wildcard bargain for the Blues.
