‘Going right to the top’, some Chelsea fans praise attacker’s display against Brighton

A section of the Chelsea fans have praised the impact of Callum Hudson-Odoi during the 2-0 Premier League win over Brighton & Hove Albion at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

The 18-year-old recently returned from a lengthy injury setback and he made his first appearance of the campaign during the 7-1 League Cup win over Grimsby Town, where scored the final goal.

Against Brighton, Hudson-Odoi was handed with his first Premier League appearance in the 65th minute and he thereafter provided the assist for Chelsea’s second goal scored by Willian, which killed off the game.

As a result, a few of the club’s faithful were pleased with the immediate contribution from the young attacker and they took to Twitter to laud his second-half performance coming off the bench.

Twitter Reactions:

Hudson-Odoi has made an instant impact since his return to the first-team mix and he appears on course to cement a regular starting role, once Lampard is assured that the teenager has achieved peak fitness.

The victory over Brighton on Saturday was the Blues’ first at home in the Premier League this term and it was more impressive from the fact that the team were able to keep their first clean sheet of the campaign.

Next up, the Blues are scheduled to Lille on the road in the Champions League group stage and Lampard will be aiming for a positive result following the 1-0 home defeat to Valencia during the competition’s curtain-raiser.

Lille are undoubtedly a tricky opposition in their home patch but the Blues could receive a major injury boost ahead of the game with N’Golo Kante fancied to return from a minor hamstring niggle.
