So, no ban imposed but Ashley Cole has been fined £90,000 for tweeting his opinion on the FA bods calling him a liar.
He apparently ‘escaped’ a ban because he personally apologised to FA chairman David Bernstein, who felt Cole “showed real remorse”. It’s the largest ever fine the FA have dished out in relation to social media ad comes shortly after he was dropped for what would have been his 99th England cap against San Marino.
Strange then that a ‘choc-ice’ tweet carries only a £45,000 fine given the connotation?
