Chelsea Live on TV: Newcastle United, Manchester City and Champions League survival

A series of disappointing domestic results sees Chelsea’s season uncharacteristically lurching out of control despite it only being November. Recent losses to QPR, Arsenal and Liverpool have seen them drop out of the top 4, 12 points behind leaders Manchester City. And only wins in their next several games will see their season go back on track ahead of the festive season.

Newcastle v Chelsea

Andre Villas-Boas’ men will take on the high-flying Magpies in St. James’ Park at the beginning of December. The Tynesider’s are surpassing all expectations this season as they currently occupy 4th place in the Premier League table, 3 points ahead of Chelsea. Alan Pardew’s outfit were also unbeaten up until their game against Man City recently and they are likely to pose a significant threat of being able to continue the Pensioners miserable run of form.

This match will definitely be a must-see when a team hitting well above their weight take on the opposition who are still struggling to match the hopes of their billionaire owner. This could be a season-defining game for the Blues as they take on one of the best defence’s in the league on their own ground and it’ll take something special to claim all three points from this fixture.

Saturday, 3rd December 12:45pm on Sky Sports 2 and Sky Sports HD 2.

Chelsea v Valencia

Andre Villas-Boas will be battling to save his future at the club and his team’s future in the Champions League as they take on the La Liga giants in a winner-takes-all match. Both sides are level in Group E on 8 points as Bayer Leverkusen have already guaranteed their passage into the knock-out stages of the cup competition. Valencia annihilated Genk 7-0 in their penultimate group game and they will be very confident of getting the required result in London.

It will be a decisive clash for the four-time English league winners as they hope to continue Roman Abramovich’s obsession with winning the Champions League. But the Spaniards will not pass up this superb opportunity easily as Unai Emery’s outfit will look to spring one of the big surprise’s of the competition so far.

Tuesday, 6th December 7:45pm on Sky Sports 2 and Sky Sports HD 2.

Chelsea v Manchester City

The table-topping Citizens are welcomed to Stamford Bridge as an enthralling clash awaits both sets of fans and neutrals too. The big-spending Manchester club have broken many records so far this season and will be hoping to continue their incredible domestic form against Chelsea. Roberto Mancini’s men have swept aside every English club they’ve faced this season bar a minor blip against Fulham.

The odds are certainly stacked against the hosts in this battle of the mega-rich clubs as from ‘keeper to their strikers, City look a formidable outfit. However their brilliant performances so far this season can’t go on forever and perhaps Chelsea will be the team to end their golden run.

Monday, 12th December 20:00pm on Sky Sports 1 and Sky Sports HD 1.
