Meireles Focused On Beating Liverpool

Raul Meireles – another player who’s made the swap from Anfield to Stamford Bridge in recent times – faces his former club tomorrow.

Sadly though, he isn’t as ready as the rest of us to wind them up.  You see, whilst he’d happily score against his former club, he reckons he’s not at a point where he’d rub their noses in it.

The Chelsea midfielder says “If I score, I will not celebrate out of respect to the Reds supporters. They were incredible towards me during my stay on Merseyside and I am also very grateful to Liverpool for giving me the chance to play in England.”

Not that he’s too sentimental though because he’s a Chelsea player now and insists “Mind you, that’s all in the past. I had some great times at Liverpool but I am a professional and my head is totally focused on Chelsea and beating them. I remember my goal against Chelsea – it was both beautiful and very important because we won the game.  (Now) I want to score goals for Chelsea, although my main task here is to help my attacking team-mates. I’m trying though. I’m always ready to shoot.”

Blue is the colour

TheChelseaBlog.org is an honest insight to the World of Chelsea FC. Not always pretty, sometimes rather cynical, but always realistic.
