Carlo Ancelotti On Torres And United

ancelotti

So, struggling to a 1-0 win against Wigan might not be the most confidence-inspiring way to prepare for a Champions League quarter-final second leg against United, particularly when we’re a goal behind already, but Ancelotti is clear what’s required Tuesday, saying “It’s positive to win because it was not easy to prepare this game between the quarter-finals. The first half was not good; the second half was better. In the end we won – it was not a good performance, but it was not easy. We have to play better at Old Trafford but this is normal. To win there we have to play at 100 percent.”

Whilst on Fernando Torres, who it seems would have no luck at all if it wasn’t for bad luck, Carlo insists “Every one of us wanted him to score and he was really unlucky sometimes and other times the keeper made a great save. But we have to continue to have confidence in him. He moved well because he created several chances for himself; maybe he will score the most important goals of our season. We have a strong squad, all the games we played against them (Manchester United) were in balance. And when we needed to win there (Old Trafford) last year we did.”
