Well, he might not have had a Chelsea shirt on his back since September, but after a lengthy absence with an Achilles injury, Yossi Benayoun has finally made a return – albeit for Israel.
Benayoun started training again about three weeks ago and made his return in the 71st minute in Israel’s 1-0 win over Greece this week and not only does that give us a bit more to choose from once he’s back to full fitness but it could well put the smile back on Torres’ face.
When they shared the same dressing room back in 2009, Torres suggested “For me he (Benayoun) should always play because I need a player like him with quality in the pass and always looking forward, looking for the striker. I always say to him that if I was the manager he’d always play with me.”
