Coyle: Sturridge To Bolton Not Liverpool

Owen Coyle has revealed that Daniel Sturridge is likely to join Bolton on loan until the end of the season, after the young striker was previously linked to Liverpool in part of an exchange deal for Fernando Torres.

If Chelsea fail to secure the transfer for Torres before the deadline, obviously it would be impossible for Sturridge to leave for Bolton.

“Well I think at this time there are always a host of names bandied about,” Coyle said. “What I would say Daniel Sturridge is, as we all know, a fantastically talented player. A player who I believe is one of the best, if not the best, young strikers in the country and a player who I believe with the platform of the Premier League will get better. You are always looking to bring in players into the football club that can help. We certainly would love to add another player to the squad we have and we are doing our utmost to bring that to fruition. It won’t be through lack of effort or want of trying but there are still a few boxes to be ticked before that can happen.”

Chelsea have currently paid £5 for Sturridge, who joined us from City in 2009, although will be due to shell out more dependant on appearances for the club as well as his International career.
