There was a pretty mad rumour doing the rounds last night that Atletico Madrid had turned down an offer from us to the tune of £52million for Sergio Aguero and Diego Godin.
I know we’ve been after Aguero before but as I said last night, unless Aguero’s suddenly started shitting gold bars, I really can’t see Roman throwing that sort of money about and it seems I had a point.
No, his bowel movements definitely aren’t about to see us achieve our ‘break even’ status – because as suspected, we won’t be acquiring his services in the first place.
Shortly after Miguel Angel Gil claimed “In the last week we have received two offers. One from Real Madrid for Aguero for 45 million euros and the other from Chelsea for Aguero and Diego Godin for 60 million. Atletico have said no to the two offers because they believe in these two players”, there was a counter claim from Press Association Sport saying there was ‘no truth’ in it.
Chelsea meanwhile, stated “We never comment on transfer speculation, no matter how wild it is.”
