Drogba Wants Confidence & Consecutive Wins

This season, we’re not seeing the same Didier Drogba on the pitch and it seems that if recent comments are anything to go by, we’re not hearing the same Didier Drogba off the pitch right now either.

Unsurprising, given our poor form I guess but whilst we’re accustomed to our Ivorian striker telling everyone who’ll listen ( or not) what we’ll have in our cabinet at the end of the season, right now what he’s saying is “I think first of all, instead of thinking about winning the title, we should think about winning two consecutive games. Then we’ll see. It’s not a joke, it’s true. We have to think about winning two consecutive games. That’s being realistic, and it shows how bad we’ve been doing for the last month and a half. It has to change.”

Of course, he’s not on his own in being cautious because Petr Cech has already acknowledged there’s a long way to go to put our bad spell behind us and Drogba agrees “When you don’t win games you lose confidence. The only way to get back your confidence and be able to say that we can still win the league would be to win two or three consecutive games and then see how we feel and say, yes, maybe it’s possible or it is not.”

Strangely realistic but not exactly brimming with confidence himself is he?

Blue is the colour

TheChelseaBlog.org is an honest insight to the World of Chelsea FC. Not always pretty, sometimes rather cynical, but always realistic.
