It’s taken a while but Branislav Ivanovich finally looks set to be rewarded for his recent form with a new four-year contract worth £65,000 a week.
Despite rumours around us signing Benfica’s David Luiz, Ivanovic’s place – albeit probably at right-back – looks to be safe for slightly longer than the 17 months his current deal runs for. It isn’t his preferred position although obviously injuries will see him shuffle into his preferred centre-back role from time to time.
Whichever it is though, it’ll be good to have him around a bit longer.
