Cole The Best Left-Back In The World

When it comes to Ashley Cole, there’s very few people outside Stamford Bridge prepared to champion his cause. It doesn’t really matter which ground we go to, he’s jeered for everything from mobile phone storage to upsetting Geordie lasses.

Of course tomorrow’s opponents have a different axe to grind with our left-back and who could blame them considering Cole’s move to Chelsea meant they had William Gallas dumped on them but despite Arsenal fans still seeing Cole as the villain, according to David Seaman, he was more like the victim.

Whilst Gooners are happy to bleat on about Cole just being a greedy b******, Seaman insists “Ashley Cole got dealt with badly at Arsenal and he was hung out to dry a little bit – and that is all I can really say.”

And with more than a hint that there was a lot more to the whole Ashley Cole thing than Arsenal fans had a clue about, Seaman suggests “The true stories never come out. Ashley has been dealt with wrongly by the club and I am not going to go into anything else on that. I love Ashley as a player and as a man. He is also the best left-back in the world, not one of them, the best left-back. He used to get changed down but one from me, because he was number three. I have seen him grow up into the great player that he is now. And I feel really proud for what he has achieved. I know some Arsenal fans may not like that but I am sorry but I know what I know, and I like him.”

Blue is the colour

TheChelseaBlog.org is an honest insight to the World of Chelsea FC. Not always pretty, sometimes rather cynical, but always realistic.
