Carlo Still Comfortable In Chelsea Hotseat

Well, everyone else might be debating Carlo Ancelotti’s future but it seems the Chelsea boss sees himself in the hotseat for a bit longer yet.

It’s inevitable really, with just one win and three defeats from our last six Premier League games, not to mention Wednesday night’s completely forgettable defeat in the Champions League, the vultures would be circling. Abramovich isn’t known for his patience after all and with Wilkins already down the road, the assumption seems to be Ancelotti won’t be far behind.

Despite the prospect of a game against Spurs in this sort of form though, Ancelotti insists “Everyone now thinks we will be beaten in our next game. I picked my strongest team against Marseille because we are in a bad moment and this was a chance to change that. But we missed this opportunity because we didn’t win and we didn’t play well, so the bad moment continues. Now we have a very difficult game against a very good Tottenham team and we all have to stay strong and focused. I am not worried about my position, just by the fact that we are not doing our best. We have to do better to move on from this moment quickly.”

A little understated you’d have to think?
