Guardiola To Replace Ancelotti? Why?

Carlo Ancelotti might have led us to a Premier League and FA Cup double in his first season and currently have us sitting top with a five point gap after a good start again this season but that doesn’t mean his job is anywhere near safe apparently.

According to reports in Spanish newspaper AS, Roman Abramovich is planning to get rid of the Chelsea manager at the end of the season and wants to bring in Pep Guardiola.

The Barcelona manager’s current contract runs out on June 30th but the deal is meant to be a rolling contract with automatic renewal as long as Guardiola gives Barcelona the nod. But in spite of president Sandro Rosell wanting to see Guardiola become Barca’s very own Sir Alex Ferguson, relations are said to be strained and talks haven’t taken place.

Obviously Guardiola’s been linked with Manchester United but with Fergie unlikely to step down quite so soon, the press have decided a link with us is in order. I mean, fair play to them because it’s not as if Abramovich doesn’t go through managers the way he goes through luxury yachts but come on, are we really meant to buy into this nonsense?
