Ashley Cole Too Daunting To Play Against?

Yesterday’s game saw Alex (thigh), Didier Drogba (fever), Frank Lampard (groin), Kalou (thigh) and Benayoun (achilles) all missing for Chelsea. A pain in the arse to have all of them unavailable but nothing we could do about it really given their injuries.

As I said in the review though, no point moaning about it seeing as Villa also had Heskey (back), Young (hamstring) and Albrighton (tired) missing. Hmmmm, is that a typo in brackets?

You’d certainly think so if it appeared amongst the Chelsea absentee list but not so for Villa it seems, because when Gerard Houllier was asked about his injuries prior to yesterday’s game he had to admit Marc Albrighton was missing the game because he hadn’t slept all night. Strangely enough, just days before the game he’d been talking about going up against Ashley Cole being ‘exciting rather than daunting’ and then he can’t sleep at night.

Bless!
