Chelsea Injuries: Benayoun Another Midfielder On The Missing List

I don’t think it’s gone unnoticed on TheChelseaBlog that Liverpool supporters aren’t exactly a favourite as far as opposition goes but if there’s one thing I hate more than a dipper, it’s a smug dipper and there’s probably a few of them right now.

No, not because they’re about to get themselves new owners – albeit the sort that probably come with their own cheerleaders – but because they’ll be thinking they got a better deal than us in the summer.

Ok, so Joe Cole hasn’t done a lot since he’s been at Anfield – well, with the exception of a red card and missed penalty – but from their point of view, at least he’ll be getting games for them which is more than can be said for our summer signing.

Yossi Benayoun hasn’t kicked a ball for us since he suffered a calf injury against Newcastle last month and after suffering an Achilles injury on international duty, has now been told he faces six months on the sidelines.

The club have confirmed “Yossi Benayoun will undergo surgery on his Achilles on Monday. The Israeli international returned to the club from international duty last week, and will now be out of action for approximately six months.”

I guess all we can do now is wish him a successful recovery and hope Frank and Kalou get back soon!

Blue is the colour

TheChelseaBlog.org is an honest insight to the World of Chelsea FC. Not always pretty, sometimes rather cynical, but always realistic.
