Ancelotti Gives Priority To Youth

Yes, here we are again. Another youth rant. But this time there is a lot more potential to the story.

You know how Arsenal always field young players in the Carling Cup? Well it seems that Ancelotti has decided to take a leaf out of Wenger’s book and do the same with Chelsea.

Over the last week, we have seen Kakuta, Mcheachran, Bruma and Van Aanholt all get some first team experience-most notably Mceachran’s first team debut. But we are yet to see a big impact from any of the youngsters. However Ancelotti has provided an opportunity for the younger players at Stamford Bridge to prove themselves and in doing so, we might just get a goal from one of them. At the moment, we are all wanting Kakuta, Mceachran and the likes to get played because at the back of our minds, we know that Drogba and Lampard are not going to be around forever.

So if there was ever a good time for an under 21 player to step up to the first team in style, this may be it. What’s more, Abramovich has stated recently that Chelsea’s big money move days are over and they will have to use money that is generated from the club rather than from his own pocket. Hmmm, I don’t see much problem with that at the moment, considering Ancelotti is content with the current squad and the youth facilities.

Look out for the Carling Cup game against Newcastle this week and be prepared for some less than household names to be representing us Blues.
