Chelsea: Kakuta The Choice Over Kalou?

This season, TheChelseaBlog is hoping to hear a lot more comments and opinions from its readers and this afternoon welcomes young Chelsea fan Gary Robertson’s opinion on Gael Kakuta. Have a read:

Maybe it’s just me but Kakuta, the french wonderkid, has done very little in the Chelsea first team since his infamous arrival from Lens. Now perhaps Don Ancelotti has some sort of well thought out plan to develop Gael into a world class player but from where things stand at the moment, with Bayern Munich sniffing around for him, it wouldn’t be a big surprise if he made a move to the German giants.

What’s more Kalou is now 25 years old, a long shot from Kakuta’s under-21 status. Don’t you think it would be good to use Kakuta in the role that Kalou plays, as a backup? This way, Kakuta will be getting some valuable first team experience and Salomon Kalou may realise he has to work a lot harder to impress on centre stage.

If we want to attract more young talent to the Bridge, then fully developing a young star into a recognisable figure in the football world is the way to go about it, instead of shipping them all out on loan to lesser clubs within the english league.

Ancelotti is an intelligent manager and with him in charge, Kakuta is sure to make his mark for Chelsea’s first team in the near future. If not, then we will never see a hot prospect break into the first team as Kakuta is arguably Chelsea’s biggest young star in years.

TheChelseaBlog.org is an honest insight to the World of Chelsea FC. Not always pretty, sometimes rather cynical, but always realistic.
