Continuing its pre-season interviews with the opposition, TheChelseaBlog puts a few questions to Harry Hotspur.
TCB: It hasn’t been that busy this summer but have any of the transfers that have taken place surprised you?
HH: I’ll never understand why English players are so overpriced. Like getting into a taxi and there’s ten grand already on the meter.
TCB: Are there any players you’d have fancied signing?
HH: Messi, Klose, anyone that wasn’t Micah Richards really.
TCB: Which club are you looking forward to playing most? And least?
HH: Blackpool at home and Man Utd away seems like a cheap, obvious response, but it’s truthful.
TCB: Who can you see finishing in the top four and who’ll be possible relegation fodder?
HH: Based on the Spurs ‘friendly’ games I’ve endured so far we could be in a relegation scrap before Christmas. Arsenal could find their Top 4 credentials scrutinized. Fab may stay, but they still have a lot to do after that. United could surprise a few people, they have made some nice low key signings and all this old squad business is loose talk. 1. Utd 2. Chelsea 3. Liverpool 4. Wolves (ie I don’t know)
TCB: You’re not the only ones who had a dodgy pre-season! Which club could be the Premier League’s dark horse?
HH: I don’t think these horses exist anymore. The Evertons, Villas and indeed the Spurs’ of this world seem destined to bump around as nearly men forever…
TCB: You missed Arsenal off that list by the way. How do you think you did last season and what are you hoping for this time round?
HH: Last season we threw away points like Elton John bins flowers. This time round I want consistency.
TCB: Lol, you weren’t on your own there either – everyone threw points away last season. So, which manager impresses you most in the Premier League?
HH: Ancelotti. I’m serious. I think he radiates strength.
TCB: Ok, ok, enough with the gags! If you could have any of our players in your squad, who would you go for and why?
HH: Lampard is an out and out role model. Few men exist these days that you’d build a team around. But he’s one.
TCB: Which player do you think will stand out for you?
HH: Modric has been a success, but I’d love for him to snatch a few headlines this time around.
TCB: How do you think you’ll do when you play us?
HH: Hopefully we’ll play fast attacking football and defend competently. And hopefully you don’t destroy us.
TCB: On the contrary, I hope we do!
Cheers.
