Cole To Liverpool? He wouldn’t….Would He?

There’s some things in life that just don’t bear thinking about…….City winning the league…..Arsenal doing well in Europe…….Joe Cole playing for Liverpool, but whilst the first two aren’t likely to happen, unfortunately, the third one looks a possibility.

There’s been plenty of speculation around the former Chelsea man’s destination for weeks with Arsenal, Spurs, West-Ham, United and even Milan touted as potential clubs but with rumours abounding that none of these have been willing to pay what Cole wants, he’s yet to find a new home for his talents.

Yesterday though, we heard that Hodgson has offered Cole a three year deal worth £90,000 a week. Obviously it would mean swapping Champions League football for the Europa League but if he’s looking for money and regular time on the pitch, maybe the 28 year old midfielder will have to take that step down.

Hodgson doesn’t seem to be aware of any ‘deal’, stating “As far as I know, Joe Cole is still a player looking for a club. I know we’ve been connected with him, and it’s good to know we’re connected with players of that quality, but I don’t have anything to report on the subject. I haven’t had any discussions with him, but I had a brief chat a while back.”

However, he apparently added that any further discussions with Cole would be down to Christian Purslow to sort out and with him allegedly wanting a decision by the end of the week, it doesn’t look as if we’ll have to wait too long before we know whether Joey’s really going to sell out completely.
