Its summer – and that means at least one player linked to us daily in the press. One of the latest on that list is Ghana midfielder Anthony Annan and just to spice the story up a bit, the press have put us up against United and Lyon for the 23 year old.
Obviously, with him dubbed ‘the next Claude Makelele’, it’s bound to grab the attention of Chelsea supporters because we’d love another Makelele but Annan himself, doesn’t seem to be getting anywhere near as carried away with the headlines.
The Rosenborg midfielder says “I’ve heard a lot about me going every summer but nothing is fazing me. It is good to hear about Man United, Chelsea and Lyon, but nothing is official. It is flattering,” But just in case we thought he’d fancy a move to the Premier League, he goes on “Lyon is a big team in Europe. But I have a contract with Rosenborg until December 2011 so let’s wait and see.”
Looks like another story heading nowhere then.
