We’ve had plenty of rumours so far this summer about major signings with equally major price tags, so here’s something different for you….Roman Abramovich sorting out a loan deal.
Yes, I know, he’s meant to be the owner not the manager but according to reports in The Scotsman, our Russian owner is ‘locked in talks’ about a loan deal for Hearts winger Andy Driver.
22 year old Driver has apparently got himself noticed in the SPL, although with FC Twente and Burnley being the only other clubs reported to be after his signature, you’d have to wonder just how big that name is.
Roman Abramovich is said to rate him anyway and since he’s good mates with Hearts chief Vladimir Romanov, he’s apparently trying to talk his old pal into not only letting us have Driver on loan but also to have a £5 million clause in the deal to make it permanent.
