Mourinho: Still ‘The Special One’?

How unusual for Jose Mourinho to be surrounded by controversy eh?

Arriving in London in the middle of the fully expected media circus, Mourinho announced he’ll still be ‘The Special One’ at the end of tonight, no matter what happens. Although whether Mario Balotelli agrees after he was rumoured to be left back in Italy following a training ground bust-up with his boss, is another matter.

Mourinho meanwhile, obviously feeling a little wistful at missing out on his old ‘big four’ battles, insisted at his press conference “Tomorrow, after the game, I will be the Special One – win or lose. I feel sorry because when I look at Manchester (United), Liverpool and Arsenal, Sir Alex (Ferguson) is there, (Arsene) Wenger is there and (Rafa) Benitez is there. I did more than enough to be here but the decision was made. I keep winning important things. They keep winning… something. They won an FA Cup.”

Unperturbed by Mourinho’s domestic success with us though, Ancelotti bites back “It is a dream for me to bring the Champions League here in my first season at Chelsea. We are working to make that dream become a reality.”

Touché.
