Harsh Words For JT From Ex-Chelsea Defender

Early last month, Marcel Desailly was somehow dragged in by The Sun as a suspect in the ‘who else had Vanessa Perroncel?’ investigation. Desailly was fairly blunt in his response, stating “Everybody knows her – but I didn’t do her”.

Yesterday, the former Chelsea defender was equally as blunt when the same newspaper asked for his opinion on the fall-out from the scandal, stating “The whole squad is affected and has big problems. It will be a hard end to the season. Knowing John Terry well, I know why he is not playing the way he normally does. He was catastrophic against Inter Milan. You have to understand that John is a born leader and captain of this Chelsea side since 2004. Now he has no credibility whatsoever within the club and this is being felt. No one is following him. Lampard, Joe Cole and the others who knew Wayne Bridge no longer allow him to be the leader.”

Once I’d picked my jaw up off the floor after reading that, it had me wondering how close to the truth he was though. I mean, there’s no denying JT’s form is affected and after the weekend that had clearly spread a little wider. Has he really lost the dressing room though?
