Wayne Bridge vs John Terry: Nothing To See Here!

Once we get our Champions League game out of the way mid-week, our weekend fixture sees us play host to Manchester City at Stamford Bridge. Squeaky-bum time you might think? No, not because Citeh are anything to worry about but maybe our captain’s cheeks could feel the pinch as he comes face-to-face with Wayne Bridge for the first time since his affair with Bridge’s ex was put up for public consumption.

There’ll certainly be some added spice to Saturday’s live lunchtime game and whether Mancini and his crew will go for the full ‘Team Bridge’ kit or something a bit more subtle like a cheerleading troop, we’ll have to see, but John Terry might just be able to hold off on the gumshield and reinforced jock-strap according to yesterdays reports in the press.

You see despite previous suggestions to the contrary, ‘a close confidant’ has apparently confirmed Bridge is prepared to put his career before any personal grudges – and will go as far as shaking Terry’s hand if that’s what he needs to do.

The source suggests “All that is nonsense. Wayne is getting on with things. Obviously there is much to be done on a friendship level but as far as their professional relationship there will be no problems. Of course Wayne will shake John Terry’s hand at Stamford Bridge and just get on with the job. He is still anxious to play for his country and won’t allow the Terry furore to blind his judgement.”

I’d still watch yourself in the tunnel if I was you John!
