So, in one fell swoop we’ve lost both a left-back and a centre-back. Ok, so you could argue John Terry will only miss out against Cardiff (physically at least) but the news on Ashley Cole isn’t so good because the verdict after Landon Donovan’s challenge Wednesday night is a fractured ankle and a lengthy lay-off. Fortunately we have Yuri Zhirkov who can easily provide cover but bearing in mind the form Cole was in before the injury, you’d have to say we’ll feel this loss more than ever.
As if the idea of us missing him for the rest of the season wasn’t bad enough though, spare a thought for Wayne Bridge who could find himself actually having to play alongside JT if Cole doesn’t get himself fit again for the World Cup. 🙂
