John Terry Setting The Record Straight

After the recent ridiculous headlines somehow borne out of John Terry praising his team-mates, the Chelsea captain has made the very wise decision to issue a statement in order to nip this particular media built circus in the bud.

TheChelseaBlog has already looked at how easily the rags can conjure up headlines out of absolutely nothing and it’s pretty sad our players have to come out and defend completely innocent comments but apparently, unless they all walk round with gaffer tape across their mouths, that’s how it is.

So, in much the same way Florent Malouda found himself having to do only a week ago, John Terry has issued a statement saying “I was surprised and disappointed to see that some of the newspaper reports of my interview I gave to Chelsea TV have been taken completely out of context. The suggestion that mine or my team-mates’ influence is the only reason for the club’s success in recent years could not be further from the truth, and if you refer to my actual quotes, you will see that I said nobody will ever be bigger than this club, players or managers.  I have always had the utmost respect for each of my managers, and am grateful for what each of them has done both for me personally and for Chelsea Football Club.”

I wonder whether the rags will give this one as many column inches?!

Blue is the colour

TheChelseaBlog.org is an honest insight to the World of Chelsea FC. Not always pretty, sometimes rather cynical, but always realistic.
