Fight, Fight, Fight: Chelsea v England

It’s starting to look suspiciously like Carlo Ancelotti and Fabio Capello aren’t exactly best mates eh?

As timely as ever, the press thought it’d be a good idea to release the odd paragraph of Carlo Ancelotti’s autobiography right before England’s 4-0 win over Kazakhstan yesterday – the relevance of course being that the paragraphs in question weren’t exactly full of praise for Fabio Capello. In fact, he described the England boss as “surly” and suggested he “did not have dialogue with his players” during his time in charge at the San Siro.

So, did the surly England boss choose to rise above it all? Nope, he snapped back “I don’t recognise myself in this description! (by Ancelotti). Sometimes I fight (disagree) with one player, not a lot, one. I usually speak with the players.  I never went to dinner with the players, I never went to dinner with the journalists. I’d prefer to go with my wife or friends of mine.  The rules of the club are I am a manager, the others are players. I respect the players and I ask respect. That is all it is. Not more than that.  If you want to be a friend of the players, you can choose. It is a different style.”

Over to you Carlo….
