Chelsea Ready To Give Guus A Worthy Send Off

So, it’s our very last game of another eventful – and somewhat controversial – season and having missed out on the Champions League final thanks to the powers that be, how are the players feeling going in to the FA Cup final today?

According to Ray Wilkins, they’re feeling pretty up for it. The Chelsea assistant manager says “The guys are not hurt as far as what happened in the semi-final, these things happen and you have to get over it and get on with it and that’s what we intend to do. They are feeling good and feeling excited, we all are as it is a showcase game and we are looking forward to taking on Everton.  They are relaxed, but every game a top-four side plays is a massive occasion and I get the impression this is no different. But it is the FA Cup final and it has massive importance to the English calendar and the lads are aware of that. There is an air of excitement as they can’t wait to get started.”

And as for the Chelsea manager heading into his last game in charge (for now), Wilkins says “Guus is in great form.  He almost looks slightly sad he is leaving the guys, there is fantastic mutual respect for each other and that has come out over the last four months.”

So, let’s give him the send off he deserves eh?
