Juliano Belletti is unlikely to make the bench for today’s game because he’s still recovering from a calf injury, and if his recent comments are anything to go by he might be unlikely to make any future games for us either.
Belletti’s never played a big part for Chelsea but he’s always been a favourite of mine and whenever he has played I’ve always thought he’s done a good job. However, Belletti’s only got a year left on his current deal and with him never really being that involved under any of our last three managers, he’s rumoured to be considering a move elsewhere.
Belletti doesn’t actually say that himself although he does say “I don’t know whether I will still be playing in England next season. The aim is simply to work hard preparing for the next game and to try and to do things well.”
Looking at it realistically there isn’t that much of a role for Belletti at Chelsea if he stays although the sentimental side of me would definitely be sad to see him go.
