Bridge Set To Go Today?

So it looks as if Wayne Bridge could be a City player anytime now, with the suggestion that a fee in the region of £12million has been agreed.

Despite only signing a new deal with Chelsea in the summer, it looks as if the offer of more regular first-team football, not to mention a £30,000 a week pay rise could be enough to see the left-back make a move to Middle Eastlands.

Fair play to him, he’s always played second fiddle since Ashley Cole arrived at Stamford Bridge and it’d certainly be a good bit of business on Chelsea’s part. We paid £7million for him back in 2003 and now, at the age of 28, look to be making a £5million profit on a player who barely gets a game.

It’s thought Bridge will head to Middle Eastlands to thrash out the finer details and sort a medical before the four-year deal worth £5.2million a season is finalised.

Good luck to him.
