Luiz Felipe Scolari seemed to be winning more friends than enemies following his arrival at Chelsea. Maybe a few away games against lesser opposition with some quality football and impressive scorelines were responsible for the press hailing the latest Chelsea boss as the best thing since sliced bread.
However, the loss of our home record, some dodgy form both at Stamford Bridge and the Champions League, and a failure to come out of our games against Arsenal, United and Liverpool with anymore than a point, and pretty much as expected, the knives are being sharpened.
Which is probably why, with Roberto Mancini’s recent trip to England, the press are like a dog with a bone. Despite Mancini’s agent completely dismissing the recent rumours linking him with Chelsea, the vultures are still predicting Scolari will get the push next month in favour of the former Inter boss.
