You could say the game against Burnley mid-week definitely didn’t go as most predicted, with us out of the Carling Cup courtesy of another defeat on penalties. Maybe that was the predictable part?
But maybe not, because what seems to be a lot more predictable these days are our injuries? Ok, we might not be able to pin-point exactly who it is who’ll limp of every week but the one certainty is – someone will.
This week’s game has seen our 19 year old Argentinean, Franco Di Santo, joining the queue outside the physio room, with the youngster picking up an injury in extra time. The news is Di Santo will now face three weeks out with a hamstring injury and with Didier Drogba facing a possible three-match ban after his antics in that game, this isn’t the sort of news we wanted to hear.
