Internationals: Decision Day For John Terry

John Terry missed Saturday’s game against Kazakhstan when a recurrence of his back problem stopped him from training and with the game against Belarus on Wednesday fast approaching he could be running out of time to prove to Capello he’s got 90 minutes in him.

With one day’s training left before England fly to Minsk tomorrow (Tuesday) morning, a decision on Terry’s inclusion in the side will be made some time today.

FA director of communications has told Sky Sports John is working with the physio Gary Lewin today (Sunday) and he’ll be doing some jogging and gym work. Tomorrow he’ll hopefully be training with the rest of the squad and that’s when Fabio will make his decision, after training tomorrow. I’m sure that Fabio, with the medical staff, and John will decide on that once it is clear whether he can make the trip or not. We fly on Tuesday morning, so a decision will have to be made once training is out of the way tomorrow.”

Personally, with his fitness still uncertain at this stage, I’d rather he sat it out and got himself sorted for Chelsea instead. He’s got a more than competent deputy in Rio Ferdinand, who not only did a good job on the pitch against Kazakhstan but did an even better job immediately after the game in calling the ‘supporters’ out for their pathetic behaviour.

Blue is the colour is an honest insight to the World of Chelsea FC. Not always pretty, sometimes rather cynical, but always realistic.
